Heart Rhythm Movement

The movements we do in our meditation classes have the purpose of helping people be in touch with their bodies. We include Movement in our meditation classes for these reasons:

1. Through entrainment of body, movement and breath, the physical heart can be experienced more easily.

2. Through connecting the breath with the movement, the movement tends to slow down as more awareness is brought to the body. We try to create the feeling that the breath is moving the body rather than the mind which would be our usual tendency. This also stimulates our endocrine system.

3. At IAM, we see the physical body as a manifestation of our inner being: the physical body is the instrument through which transformation can occur.
